Microneedling in Richmond
Microneedling is a procedure where sterile microneedles are pressed into the skin. Another term often used to describe microneedling is Collagen Induction Therapy. Here, at Rejuvenation Skin Lab, we use the latest technology, which uses an automatic, vibrating, stamp-like motion to create micro-injuries to the skin. By using the stamp-like motion, we are able to maximize results while minimizing scraping, scratching, and preventing unnecessary trauma. This method promotes natural collagen production without the stress and pain associated with ablative treatments.

FAQs
How long does treatment take?
Treatment takes about 1.15 hours. Included in this time is a 30-minute numbing process.
How many treatments do I need?
At RSL, we tailor each package specifically to each client. On average, typically, anywhere from 3-6 sessions are needed to achieve the goals desired, whether that’s acne scarring, pore refinement, glowing texture, fewer crinkles, wrinkles, and folds, you name it!
What should I expect during my treatment?
Day of treatment, you arrive at the office. We obtain pictures beforehand and begin the numbing process. We then treat the entire face and neck. Most patients are comfortable with our topical numbing cream, rating the procedure 2-3/10 on comfort level. We offer laughing gas as an additional comfort measure.
How should I prepare for my treatment?
Drink lots of water leading up to treatment. The skin is the largest organ in the body, and hydration is key to making it happy and having plenty of resources left over for rejuvenation. Stop all active products, including glycolic acid, salicylic acid, retinol, vitamin A, or tretinoin products, for 48 hours prior to treatment. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications 5 days prior to treatment. The skin should be free of sunburn before treatment.
What should I do after treatment?
Post microneedling, the skin may feel tight or windburnt. 3-5 days after, you may notice some dryness. We want calming, soothing ingredients used for one week post-treatment. After your skin has returned to its normal baseline, active ingredients can be added back into your normal routine.
What makes our sensation management (pain management) different during treatment?
Ok, we’ve heard some of your horror stories about receiving this treatment from other offices, and let us tell you, Rejuvenation Skin Lab is your glowing/rejuvenation skin sanctuary, not your torture chamber!
Comparing PRP & Exosomes in Skin Care
Injectable CO2 Gas from the 1930’s gets a Facelift – CO2 Lift Mask
What sets us apart/ what makes us different?
- Quality Product: Once the skin has had open channels created in it, we infuse exosomes, which are 100X more powerful than PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), and there is NO blood draw. The growth factors in exosomes are derived from a cellularly young, pristine donor source. They help to address sun damage, texture, wrinkles, redness, and uneven skin tone. There are no negative side effects, and everyone is a candidate for treatment with exosomes. Think of it like aerating your lawn and introducing miracle growth or fertilizer in it for youthful, glowing skin on every level.
- Carboxy Therapy: We add a CO2 Lift Mask to our microneedling treatment, which by introducing carbon dioxide to the skin, widens the blood vessels, increasing the transportation of oxygen to body tissues for cellular regeneration and anti-inflammatory effects.
- Carboxy therapy has been shown to:
- Help cells “turn over” faster, reducing the appearance of aging, scars, stretch marks, and more
- Stimulate collagen and elastin production
- Helps the body heal localized damage such as scars or acne hyperpigmentation
- Regenerate and repair damaged tissue
- Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas)
